So you have a photoshoot/ video-shoot outside that requires power, but you don’t have a power source. What do you do?

The simple answer is to get a generator. You can actually rent one from Home Depot for pretty inexpensive if it’s jut a day rental ($57 before taxes). You can also probably try Lowes as well if you prefer that place instead, but I’m not a 100% sure.

That’s what I had to do back in April when a client wanted to incorporate smoke in her video announcing that her and her colleagues were going to announce that they were going to have their own estate brokerage firm. I was kind of freaking out the night before because I had no idea how I was going to power a smoke machine for the shoot. I initially naively thought that there must be open power outlets in the alleys of downtown Tulsa, but upon spending an hour investigating I discovered that was just a pipe dream of mine.

Strangely this information was a lot harder to find then one would think so hopefully this tid bit helps some other young and aspiring videographer out there.
